Our Role in Your Job Search

July 24, 2018

There are quite a few misconceptions on whether or not to register with a staffing firm. This blog is to help address our expectations, so you can make the best decision for you and your job search.

First, a little about us; Tews Company, has been a local boutique recruiting firm for over 20 years in Orlando. We work with some of the best companies in Central Florida and we cherish our relationships with our clients. In an effort to keep our amazing clients happy, we pledge to find them the best talent to join their team. Now, this is where you come in…

We view this as a team effort. We know that when you choose to sign up with Tews, you expect to find a job. And, as much as we would love to make that happen, we have a few expectations from you as well.

HELP US HELP YOU

  • Schedule an appointment with one of our topnotch Recruiters – Treat this as an actual interview. We know that looking for a job is time consuming and filling out countless numbers of applications can be quite cumbersome. But, having the application and testing completed prior to meeting with us, whether it be in person, FaceTime or Skype, can be a total time saver. It is beneficial for us to know your skill set and interview style so we can assess which client would be best fit for you. It also helps us when preparing you for client interviews!
  • Honesty Is The Best Policy – Please be as descriptive and honest as you can on the application. Here are the items we verify; Without a doubt, we check references from previous employers and we run your criminal background. We also send testing to assess your software skillset and in some cases, we verify education as well as check your credit (typically for accounting/finance positions).
  • Communicate, Communicate, Communicate – This goes for us too! We do our best to try and find out the exact details of the job description, salary, bonus potential and benefits package so you can decide whether or not you want to be considered for an opening. We expect for you to let us know what it will take to leave your current position. It’s a total gut punch when a Recruiter presents a candidate to a client, they get all the way through the interview process, including a job offer, and then decline. Counter offers are hardly ever a good idea (Google it), please keep that in mind!

One last thing to keep in mind, Timing Is Everything – We genuinely want you to land you the job of your dreams! However, timing is a key factor. Supply vs. Demand is a major component –unfortunately we can’t find you a job that isn’t available, we aren’t magicians. But, what we can do, is keep your resume and credentials on file should that perfect job open up in the future.

Remember, you aren’t just registering with us, you are putting yourself in front of all of our clients with current and future job openings.
